Liquid Soul, the new CD from producer/bassist Ajamu Akinyele (Ah-jah-moo + Ah-kin-yay-lay) and pianist/keyboardist Jon O'Bergh, together known as Gemini Soul, is musically inspired by Stanley Clarke, MeShell Ndegeocello, Marcus Miller, Sade, Herbie Hancock and Dave Brubeck.
Liquid Soul gives you the ultimate experience in a new direction in jazz with new original music, plus favorite standards such as Peggy Lee's "Fever," Stanley Clarke's "Yesterday Princess," Sade's "Kiss of Life" & "Hang On To Your Love," and Dave Brubeck's "Take Five." This CD will prove that Gemini Soul w/ Ajamu Akinyele and their Cyber Jazz is here to stay, continuing to redefine jazz for a new generation.
Jon OBergh plays keyboard and piano in a style that would appeal to fans of Herbie Hancock, Tori Amos, Sade and Dave Brubeck; while Ajamu Akinyele plays bass laying down pure funk in a style that would appeal to fans of Stanley Clarke, Marcus Miller, Prince and MeShell Ndegeocello creating a unique and identifiable sound called Cyber-Jazz, which is a blend of smooth jazz-funk fusion.
Ajamu Akinyele states "My overall goal is to introduce my music to all generations and to all ethnic backgrounds in support of jazz of all genres, trying to unite us as a people of one nation under a groove through cyber jazz."
