Born in Rome, Scascitelli began playing music at eight years old. She went on to graduate in classical and jazz piano from the prestigious Conservatory St. Cecilia, where she studied with the musical elite. Later, she would collaborate with many well-known musicians in her native country. After moving to New York in the early 1980’s, Scascitelli would make a name for herself by performing with the likes of Don Cherry, Maxine Sullivan, Clifford Jordan, David "Fathead" Newman, Buster Williams, Charles McGhee and many others. This internationally respected musician has been included in various music encyclopedias, books and magazines.
