Sal Mosca Releases New CD

Sal Mosca, has released another CD on Zinnia Records; however, this is his first trio CD. Sal has been recording since 1949 when he recorded with Lee Konitz and Warne Marsh; since then Sal has recorded with Miles Davis and Max Roach; Oscar Pettiford and Kenny Clarke; Billy Bauer, Peter Ind, Don Ferrara, Shadow Wilson; Eddie Gomez, Ron Carter, Roy Haynes, Sam Jones, and Jimmy Halperin; he has played with Charlie Parker, Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughn, Red Mitchell, Al Cohn, Zoot Zims, Stan Getz, Ted Brown, Charles Mingus, and he performed with Lenny Bruce. He has recorded for Atlantic, Verve, Milestones, Discovery, Choice, Interplay, Mosaic, Prestige, and Zinnia.

At 77, Sal is teaching, sessining, and once again performing. Recently he has performed at Birdland, Westchester Conversatory of Music, Wiliam Paterson Univ Jazz Room with Jimmy Halperin, Alexa Fila, Don Messina, and Bill Chattin.

Thing ah majig was recorded at Sal's studino in May 2004 and mastered by Michael MacDonald and James Farber. The tunes include: I'm Getting Sentimental Over You; Out of Nowhere; I'll Remember April; I Can't Get Started; How High The Moon; and If I Had You.
