EDUCATED AT BERKLEE COLLEGE IN BOSTON HAVING STUDIED W HAL CROOK AND GEORGE GARZONE SHE HAS ( AS WELL AS LEADING HER OWN GROUP THE SOPHIE DUNER ORCHESTRA FOR WHICH BERKLEE PAID HER FIRST CD FOLLOWED BY A TOUR TO JAPAN ) COLLABORATED WITH A VARIETY OF INTERESTING MUSICAL FORMATIONS DURING THE PAST TEN YEARS. SOME OF THEM ARE World/Jazz musicians FERNANDO TARRES& ARIDA CONTA GROUP, GUILLERMO KLEIN W THE BIG VAN ( NEW YORK ) w concerts at Small's in New York,The Composers of the New England Collectives in Boston with modern classical comoposers such as Manuel Ceide and Francis Schwartz touring Holland, Spain and Puerto Rico. The Interplay Collective Big Band in Switzerland featuring Matt Pennmann on bass etc
Sophie has performed at Festivals such as Getxo Jazz Festival,Jazz en La Costa and Lugo V1 Jazz Festival in Spain with guitarplayer Joaquin Chacon. Extensive performing w pianist Polo Orti throughout Spain.Circulo de Bellas Artes ( concert sponsored by SAS & Swedish Embassy of Madrid ).
The Stockholm Jazz Festival and Gothenburg Symphony Hall in Sweden, Sapporo Snow Festival in Japan,Baltic Jazz Festival in Finland,Glarus Jazz Festival in Switzerland.
In 2004, she did one week studies at the Stockhausen Music Course in Germany under direction of KH Stockhausen.
In September of 2005, she will be recording her next album under C.I.M.P label in New York.
