Restless Willow by Stevie Holland

Critically acclaimed, award winning vocalist Stevie Holland has inspired and thrilled audiences in the worlds of pop, theater and jazz music.

Her musical journey began with influences from her parents in jazz and opera. Her father was a saxophone player and commercial artist and her mother was an opera singer. She grew up in a large Norwegian-Italian household in Westchester County, New York. Being the youngest of seven children also exposed her to a wide cross-section of pop, rock and folk music. She studied theater and music at New York University and went on to develop a solo career in New Yorks cabaret circuit. She also started writing lyrics collaborating with a range of composers.

Her recording debut as a singer/lyricist was "Do You Ever Dream?" an inspirational pop album of original songs co-written with composer Gary William Friedman. With a non-religious universal message "Do You Ever Dream?" was created as a spiritual journey for all people.

In response to the tragedy of September 11th Stevie again teamed up with her now steady collaborator Gary William Friedman to write and record a CD single "This Is America". "This Is America" served as a fundraiser for the Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund an educational scholarship co-chaired by President Bill Clinton and Senator Bob Dole. The CD received a heartfelt endorsement from President Clinton and the song was found to be a healing and unifying one that was played at special events and gatherings for victims' families.

Stevie recently wrote a theme song for Joey Reynolds the popular Rock n" Roll Hall of Famer and Radio talk show host which is played nightly on his national program. Returning to the American standard songbook she recorded her recent album "Almost Like Being In Love". Heard on radio stations from coast to coast "Almost Like Being In Love" was embraced by pop music lovers - and also firmly established Stevie as a jazz vocalist on the rise.

"Restless Willow" passionate and soulful album which captures the sincere depths of her emotions as well as her stunning vocal abilities. Arranged and orchestrated by Gary William Friedman this new CD is a collection of classic jazz standards special and original material presented with kickin" rhythm charts and lush string arrangements. Stevie is backed by some of today's finest jazz musicians and is joined by singer Rub'n Flores on the duet "One Touch". "Restless Willow" affirms why Stevie Holland received the 2004 BACK STAGE Bistro Award for "Outstanding Vocalist of the Year". It further confirms why critics have raved about her "solid head for swing" her "ability to make a song her own" and why she is "a singer with taste and style."
