Bruce McKenzie

Smooth Jazz from independent jazz guitarist Bruce McKenzie. The track, "Special Moments" is the title track of his upcoming release due late November 2002. - (Style: Smooth Jazz)
Marian McPartland

- (Style: Straight-Ahead / Classic)
Laurent Medelgi

Swing, Medium-up tempo original piece recorded live at 55 Bar, in NYC, November 2000. Features beautiful strong bass playing by Steve LaSpina and frisky drumming by Bob Meyer. Medelgi's guitar playing expresses his neo-bop approach in this tune. - (Style: Contemporary Jazz)
Medeski Martin & Wood

Like a journey – some kind of road trip shared by variety to weird, crazy or dangerous hitchhikers – Uninvisible takes listeners past, through and under many sites of interest, all of them characteristically dreamlike. Unlike some of MMW’s previous groove fests, this trip moves along at a speedy clip, leaving you wanting to linger longer at each stop instead of looking ahead to what’s next.

Perhaps one reason this disc moves so well is the circumstances under which it was recorded: The trio got together in a studio in Brooklyn, N.Y., and just jammed, laying down loads of tracks from which they selected 14 pieces to develop with producer/engineer Scotty Hard (The Word, Prince Paul, Deltron 3030, Wu-Tang Clan). - Richard Anderson - (Style: Soul / Funk Jazz)

Brad Mehldau

- (Style: Straight-Ahead / Classic)
Brad Melhdau

- (Style: Free Jazz / Avante Garde)
Metalwood

For a point of reference, this track is very reminiscent of Bill Bruford’s Earthworks. U.B. the Monster is lead off again by bassist Tarry. I am impressed by every note he plays. He not only has the groove, but he has an ear for picking the right notes and making music. Too many fretless bass players wallow in “Jacoisms” or try to be some sort of bass god at the expense of the music. Chris Tarry is the real deal. - Michael Bettine - (Style: Soul / Funk Jazz)
Hitoshi Metamorphosis-One

When I'm absentminded, My jukeBox is playing in my ear. This melody makes my happy music life! - (Style: Traditional / New Orleans)
Pat Metheny

Out of the plethora of Pat Metheny Group albums that have been released, Speaking Of Now has been one of the most widely anticipated. This is undoubtedly due to many factors: the signifcant addition of a distinct new generation of players (Richard Bona, Antonio Sanchez and Cuong Vu), the marker in the timeline of the Group's existence as one of the most acclaimed ensembles of its time, and the expectations of legions of fans who have accompanied the PMG on its long journey (some since inception). - Fred Gerantab - (Style: Contemporary Jazz)
Jesus Meza

A powerful strong bass groove from a mexican musician!!!!. Enter and listen to this first independent recording. - (Style: Latin Jazz / Latin Funk)
Marcus Miller

With M2 ("M-squared"), his first studio recording since 1994, Marcus Miller deepens the groove of jazz in the new century. Featuring an all-star cast and Marcus Miller's distinctive, creative vision, M2 liberates crossover jazz from its conventional form and tonality. - (Style: Smooth Jazz)
Manuel 'Guajiro' Mirabel

- (Style: Latin Jazz / Latin Funk)
Wolfgang Mitschke

Relaxing Smooth-Jazz from Berlin, Germany. Enjoy ! - (Style: Smooth Jazz)
Gavin Molton

Jazz Fingerstyle Guitarist, combining many different styles to produce a cross over jazz/folk and celtic style. Influences include Martin Taylor, leo kotte, george van epps and Pat Metheny. Full streams of album can be found on the site, with the option buy the CD or download tracks. - (Style: Folk Jazz)
Marc Mommaas - Global Motion

Original Composition by Marc Mommaas, played by Marc Mommaas on Tenor sax and Bass clarinet, Nikolaj Hess on piano and John Hebert on bass. The band is 'Global Motion trio'. - (Style: Contemporary Jazz)
Joseph Patrick Moore

Funky contemporary jazz with a hard deep bass line to die for. This one will get you in the groove. - (Style: Contemporary Jazz)
MOTIV

MOTIV due for release November '05. "Exellent jazz meets hiphop collective" - TimeOut "...like listening to Miles Davis and Public Enemy" - Detroit Illharmonic "Funky jazz for the 21st Century" - etherbeat.com - (Style: Soul / Funk Jazz)
N' Touch

Rhythmic instrumental track fused with jazz, r&b and latin flavors. This track reached the Semi-Finals for the "makeastar.com" song contest for the week ending August 19, 2002. - (Style: Smooth Jazz)
N' Touch

Vocal track with a jazzy pop sound and beautiful melody. Nice vocal and sax exchanges. - (Style: Smooth Jazz)
N' Touch

Smooth track with latin and R&B flavors highlighted by the superb play of the band's young drummer. - (Style: Latin Jazz / Latin Funk)
Native Tongue

A festive samba by Kam Falk that features a flute melody played over a Tumbao (syncopated bass line). - (Style: Various Jazz Styles)
Vernon Neilly

This song is the leading song from the CD compilation "United By Tone" which also features Bill Frisell, Jimmy Bruno, and Canadian Bassist Alain Caron, and a host of platinum selling artists. As well as playing on the project Vernon produced and mastered the CD. This CD was well written about in many major trade magazines, and is a steal at $3.50 U.S. - (Style: Latin Jazz / Latin Funk)
Chip Newton

This mp3 features one of the all time great standards, "Body and Soul." It is a tribute of sorts to Gene Bertoncini; the melody is almost always stated but reharmonized in several ways. Rather than meandering around the tune's chord changes (as many jazz solo guitar performances do) this style of playing holds the listener while the the rich, recomposed harmonies create a total web of sound. - (Style: Straight-Ahead / Classic)
Chip Newton

This tune features hot bebop from a great band! Seth Carper-alto sax, Chip Newton-guitar, Chris Ozer-piano,Wolfgang Planz-electric bass, and Max Wood-drums. Recorded in April of 2002. - (Style: BeBop / Hard Bop)
O'2L

- (Style: Electronica)
