This was a concert rather than a gig; no PA system (just a small amount of amplification for the bass), a fine piano, a room with an acoustic perfectly suited to acoustic jazz of great subtlety and an audience who listened intently. The music may be subtle but it doesn't lack passion or dynamics, and as such it exemplifies the kind of music to be found on the ECM label.
