Ordesa is the trio of Kenny Wheeler, Stan Sulzmann and John Parricelli. As you might expect with players of this caliber, the music was beautifully crafted; all three contributed compositions with the odd standard (Billy Strayhorn's "A Flower is a Lovesome Thing"). For the second set they were joined by Dave Whitford and Ian Thomas, making the group the Sulzmann/Parricelli quartet with Kenny Wheeler. The powerful rhythm section raised the energy level; it was a pleasure to see five great players at the top of their game.
