Art Themen has had a long and distinguished career on the UK jazz scene, including a long association with Stan Tracey, without giving up his "day job" (consultant orthopaedic surgeon!). Amazingly this was the first time the quartet had played together; they played with a coherence and empathy that suggested a much longer association.
