Bonington Theatre in Nottingham, UK on October19, 2006
Julia Biel's music is an intriguing mix of jazz, Latin American, with maybe a dash of Bjork. The group's instrumentation gives some gorgeous sonic textures, and as the gig went on I found myself more and more drawn in by her warm and relaxed voice. A special mention for drummer Tim Giles, who was drafted in as a last-minute replacement for Seb Rochford, and Neil Yates, who stood in for clarinet/flute player Idris Rahman.
