The Lucerne Blues Festival receives the “Keeping the Blues Alive” Award 

The high quality program and the special hospitality in Lucerne are the main reasons why the Lucerne Blues Festival has received the “Keeping the Blues Alive” Award. The organization committee was surprised when the sensational news from America came at the end of the 12th Festival. The American Blues Foundation – the most important organization in the Blues business - has given recognition that the Lucerne Blues Festival is one of the best and most important Blues music events in the world. The “Keeping the Blues Alive” Award has, for the first time in its history, been awarded to an organization outside of the United States. The awards ceremony takes place on February 3, 2007 in Memphis Tennessee.
