The grass roots survival of jazz in the UK depends very much on the support of a few devoted enthusiasts. A fine example of this is the Clocktower Cafe, where the management and supporters provide two hours of free jazz every Thursday at mid-day. The line up is always top notch, and a typical example is the Gill Cook Trio, photographed here. Long may it continue.
