As well as working with the BBC Big Band (see Brian O'Connor's gallery), Joe Lovano was joined for this concert by three of the UK's finest musicians. Joe Lovano proved himself to be the complete saxophonist, covering everything from breathy ballads to out-there freedom. Gareth Williams was in electrifying form on piano, Steve Watts and Martin France were a rhythm section of power and flexibility.
