A Celebration of Cole Porter (Pizza Express)
in Soho, London, UK on October 16th, 2007
A night of exuberant joyous entertainment. Lea sing the blues, sings a delicate ballad, belts it like Ethel Merman, cracks jokes and swears like the proverbial trooper. All in the space of 15 minutes. This was not a reverent tribute to Cole Porter, but it was a thoroughly enjoyable one. Janette Mason was superb on keyboards and as musical director. Ian Shaw can match Lea in the extrovert department, being ably assisted by Clare Teal. Simon Little and Winston Clifford (on drums, tucked away in total darkness)kept the beat behind the mayhem. Catch Lea and Janette in action as soon as you can.
