Humphrey Lyttelton sadly died on Friday 25th April 2008, at the age of 86. He played his last full gig at the Bulls Head, Barnes, only a few days earlier. A superb player, raconteur, and possessed of sense of humour that would make the Sahara appear to be an oasis, he will be sorely missed. Active in jazz for over 60 years, the world of music and humour has lost one of the last true greats. Taken only 8 months previously, this set of images show him and his band in fine form at the Brecon Jazz Festival. A small tribute to a great man.
