Event Description: WHO/WHAT: Rags, Strides and Stomps: Jazz at Lincoln Center celebrates solo piano and the generations thereof featuring Marcus Roberts – a “genius of modern piano” – and Jonathan Batiste and Aaron Diehl, two rising stars. This concert highlights the stride piano and includes works by James P. Johnson, Willie “The Lion” Smith and Fats Waller. This concert is made possible with a gift from Burwell and Chip Schorr. Entergy Nuclear is the corporate sponsor of this performance.

About the Venue: Jazz at Lincoln Center is a not-for-profit arts organization dedicated to jazz. With the world-renowned Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra, the Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra and a comprehensive array of guest artists, Jazz at Lincoln Center advances a unique vision for the continued development of the art of jazz by producing a year-round schedule of performance, education and broadcast events for audiences of all ages.

In October 2004, Jazz at Lincoln Center opened Frederick P. Rose Hall—the first-ever performance, education and broadcast facility devoted to jazz. The facility has three performance venues: Rose Theater (seats about 1,200), The Allen Room (seats about 500) and Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola (seats 140).
