 Ramsey Lewis, Paquito D'Rivera and Fourplay Photo Artist / Group Bio: Ramsey Lewis, the acclaimed pianist, composer and media personality, has been referred to as ÒThe Great Performer.Ó With three Grammy¨ Awards, three honorary doctorates, seven gold records and a recent National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Masters Award to his credit, Ramsey is often called Òlegendary.Ó His sophisticated performances with the Ramsey Lewis Trio feature the songs that sent him to the top of the charts with his hits ÒThe In CrowdÓ and ÒHang On Sloopy.Ó

Paquito DÕRivera, the award-winning Cuban-born saxophonist and clarinetist, has earned three Grammy¨ Awards and five Latin Grammy¨ Awards during his long career for composition and performance in jazz, Latin and classical music. His explosive performances have won him an ever-growing audience and critical acclaim. D'Rivera has also been honored as a National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Master and a Living Jazz Legend Award by the Kennedy Center for his outstanding body of work.

Fourplay is that innovative quartet that has maintained a consistent presence on the cutting edge of contemporary jazz since their inception 17 years ago. Fourplay will make their Heads Up Records debut with a yet-to-be-titled album scheduled for release in this summer.

Fourplay, whose current lineup consists of Grammy¨ Award winning keyboardist Bob James, acclaimed bassist Nathan East, two-time Grammy¨ Award winning guitarist Larry Carlton and drummer extraordinaire Harvey Mason, has enjoyed consistent artistic and commercial success by grafting elements of R&B and pop to their unwavering jazz foundations. In a span of seventeen years and ten albums, the quartet has continued to explore the limitless dimensions and permutations of jazz while at the same time appealing to a broad mainstream audience. Fourplay launched the smooth jazz movement with a debut album that shot straight to the top of the contemporary jazz charts. Their third album, Elixir, stayed at the #1 slot for ninety-two weeks.

About the Venue: In 2002, Ed Madaus and Paul Demoga founded the Worcester Center for Performing Arts, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization focused on restoring the former Poli Palace Theatre. The WCPA Board of Directors has worked to restore this magnificent theatre back to its original glory. In March of 2008, the theatre re-opened as The Hanover Theatre for the Performing Arts with Broadway tours, nationally recognized performers, and family shows gracing the stage.
