Event Description: “Jukebox Saturday Night” featuring Peter Marshall (Boy Singer)is backed by the Skyliners Big Band. Paradise Performing Arts Center presents its annual Memorial Day weekend trip to the Big Band era. Past shows have featured The Ink Spots, The Mills Brothers, and The Modernaires with Paula Kelly, Jr., Don Cherry (Mr. “Band of Gold”), Marilyn King (King Sisters) and this year a return of Peter Marshall. Unbeknownst to many, Peter was a big band singer long before he rose to fame as the long-time host of the original “Hollywood Squared.” Peter still has a rich baritone voice that is sometimes compared to his late brother-in-law, singer, Dick Haymes. At this year’s “Jukebox” Peter Marshall plans to repeat several of his favorite standards, some by Gershwin and Porter and will also introduce the audience to Jimmy Van Heusen, Johnny Mercer, Matt Dennis, Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson hits. Peter last appeared at Paradise Performing Arts Center in May of 2003. He is returning by popular demand.
