NYC scene ( where he's sharing bills with everyone from Electro Pop Star MOBY and
Hip-Hop great Keith Murray of DEF SQUAD to Avant V.I.P. Time Berne ) Described as
'Inimitable' by PM NYC / Paper Magazine, ' Impressive, Intense ' by TIME OUT NY, a
Guitar Player Magazine's 'Editor's Pick' deemed ' Groundbreaking ' by Don Williamson
of Jazz Review. STEN HOSTFALT, one of the most active and most innovative guitarists
on today's creative music scene in New York City. Reflect the legacy and tradition that
a decade as an apprentice in the Traditional Large Jazz Orchestras of Phil Wilson, Herb
Pomeroy, George Russell and notably with Guillermo Klein's pioneering large ensemble
weekly at Smalls in 1994, during the inception of the influential venue.

His new lineup called K-MOD or ' Sten Hostfalt 3 or 4 ' feature musical friends of two decades,
bassist Tim Luntzel ( Linda Ronstadt, Norah Jones, Bill Frisell ) and drummer Marko Djordjevic
( ' a drumming star ' Modern Drummer Magazine ) or as a bass-less trio, or full quartet featuring
saxophonist Ole Mathisen ( Ron Carter, Peter Erskine, Kenny Barron, Randy Brecker ).
And Sten Hostfalt on guitar, providing the typically all-composed song format material that also gives
the band lots of room to stretch and improvise. In the collective, natural way of musicians who have played
together alongside some of the most creative musicians of our time - over a timespan of 20 years.



Artist / Group Bio: Introduced on the 1990's New York Jazz scene through mentors and giants of Jazz Jimmy Giuffre, Joe Maneri and Paul Bley, critically acclaimed award-winning Jazz and microtonal guitar virtuoso Sten Hostfalt has shaped his sound in performances, recordings and collaborations with some of the world's most innovative musicians.
