Biography: David Tughan – Vocals “Builder’s Brew”, David’s second album on OT Records features David with The Organ Trio; Jim Mullen (guitar) Mike Gorman, (Hammond organ), Matt Skelton (drums) plus Steve Kaldestad on tenor sax. The album is a swinging synergy of voice and instruments; innovative, incredibly stylish, yet as the title suggests Builder’s Brew (aka: cup of tea) radiates a strong feel-good factor, it’s as welcoming and heart-warming as it is accessible to all. Described as “the epitome of cool” David’s light vocal touches, crisp diction and witty interpretations demonstrated on his critically acclaimed debut album, ‘Just In Time’ (released on OT Records in 2003) won a legion of fans and admirers including top UK jazz journalists and broadcasters. Born and raised in Ireland, David (33) moved to London in 1993 to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where he graduated with BA (Hons). After recording “Just In Time” with fellow Guildhall graduates (Simon Colam, Tom Herbert, Chris Higginbottom), David went on to work with his own quintet in clubs and festivals in the UK and Ireland. He regularly performs with The John Wilson Orchestra (the 20-piece big band, renowned for their musical contribution to actor Kevin Spacey’s film, ‘Beyond the Sea’). In addition to David’s musical career he continues to combine his acting and musical versatility in theatre, radio and television throughout the UK and Europe.
