Biography: "The album is marked by sophisticated arrangements, gorgeous acoustic and electric string textures... and sensitive trap-set work... The tunes are sturdy and the playing inspired...hefty set of well-conceived music." - Philip Booth, Downbeat, February 2009.

"Gray is a unique voice on the bass, full of musicality and inventive ideas..." - Dave Miele, Jazz Improv, Winter 2009.

"Gray showcases an exquisite tone and sensitivity... the pieces feel like intriguing three-way conversations." - Jazziz, Fall 2009.

Larry Gray is perhaps best known as the bassist with the Ramsey Lewis Trio; both on tour and on albums like "Songs From The Heart" (Concord Jazz, 2009); "Time Flies"(Narada Jazz, 2004); "Simple Pleasures" (with Nancy Wilson) (Narada Jazz, 2003), "Meant to Be" (with Nancy Wilson) (Narada Jazz, 2002) and "Appassionata"(Narada Jazz, 1999). Larry has worked with many great jazz artists, including: Kenny Burrell, Danilo Perez, Jack DeJohnette, Donald Harrison, Roscoe Mitchell, Nicholas Payton, Clark Terry, George Coleman, Larry Coryell, Lee Konitz, Bobby Hutcherson, McCoy Tyner, Benny Golson, Jackie McLean, Joe Pass, Joe Williams, Monty Alexander, Benny Green, and many others. Larry has performed with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Lyric Opera of Chicago, and the Joffrey Ballet.
